PHYSICIAN OPPORTUNITY!

Ridgeview Medical Centre is a busy family medicine clinic based in the spectacular mountain community of Canmore, Alberta. Our multi-disciplinary team includes 7 x Family Physicians and 2 x Licensed Practical Nurses. In addition to our Family Practice, we also offer walk-in clinic hours and each of our physicians are members of the Bow Valley PCN.

Ridgeview Medical Centre is looking for multiple physicians to join our team. The schedule is negotiable; however, the expectation would be an ongoing schedule of 3-4 shifts per week, including 1 x evening shift per week (offering same-day / walk-in clinic services) and rotating weekend walk-in / hospitalist coverage. Clinical privileges with Canmore General Hospital are a requirement of the position.

Dr. Kendra Barrick

University of Ottawa &
University of Calgary
Special Interests: Palliative Care; Addiction Medicine; Mental Health Counselling; PrEP.

Dr. Barrick obtained her medical degree from the University of Ottawa in 2014. Originally from Kitchener, Ontario, she moved to Calgary to start her Family Medicine residency at the University of Calgary, and instantly fell in love with the mountains and the people.

Dr. Barrick also works as a clinical lecturer at the University of Calgary, teaching current family medicine residents. When not practicing medicine, you can find Dr. Barrick in the mountains running, hiking and ice-climbing!

Dr. Chantal Badger

University of Calgary &
University of Alberta

Special Interests: Addiction Medicine, Mental Health Counselling, Health Promotion, Child Health; PrEP.

Dr. Badger completed her medical degree at the University of Calgary. She then finished her Family Medicine residency through the University of Alberta program in Red Deer and rural communities in Central Alberta.

In her spare time, Dr. Badger loves to trail run, bike, and ski. She is thrilled to join the Ridgeview team on a permanent basis. 

Dr. Badger is also fluent in French and Spanish!

Dr. Brandon Hone

University of Calgary

Special Interests: IUD Insertion; Skin biopsy; Knee and Shoulder Injections; Toenail Procedures.

Dr. Hone commenced with Ridgeview Medical Centre on November 1, 2018. He graduated from the Family Medicine Residency program at University of Calgary in 2016 and provided locum services in the Bow Valley, Northern Alberta and the Yukon before joining the Ridgeview team as one of our owner-physicians.

In his spare time, Dr. Hone enjoys skiing, climbing, mountain biking and reading.

Dr. Christa McPherson

University of British Columbia

Special Interests: Women's Health; IUD Insertion; Endometrial Biopsy.

Dr. McPherson completed her medical degree at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver and her Family Medicine Residency on Vancouver Island, in Nanaimo BC. She worked providing locum coverage in several rural communities in BC before moving to Canmore.

Dr. McPherson is a busy and proud mom of two beautiful boys. She loves the outdoors - climbing, running and skiing in particular - and hopes to help her patients achieve optimal health to pursue their passions.

Dr. Emma Morin

University of Calgary

Special Interests: IUD Insertion; Dermoscopy and Minor Excisions; Endometrial Biopsy.

Dr. Morin graduated from the University of Calgary, with a good portion of her training in Canmore itself. She then completed residency at the University of Calgary, and was very excited to come back to Canmore to practice family medicine.

Dr. Morin is originally from coastal BC, and loves hiking, biking, skiing and climbing in the mountains.

Dr. Ruth Eeles

University of Birmingham

Special Interests: IUD Insertion, Endometrial Biopsy, Minor Procedures, Nexplanon Insertion

Dr. Eeles has lived in the Bow Valley for over a decade. She was drawn to the mountains and loves all they have to offer. She and her family can be found biking, hiking, skiing and camping. 

She completed her medical training in the UK and then spent 8 years in Sydney, Australia before moving to Canada. She enjoys the variety that Family Medicine brings and the relationships that she builds with her patients over the years. 

Dr. Christie Grundling

University of Pretoria in South Africa

Special Interests:

Dr. Grundling is happy to be in Canmore. He and his family emigrated from South Africa and have been in Red Deer since 2003. 

Dr. Grundling graduated at the University of Pretoria in South Africa and did his post graduate training in Windhoek, Namibia. He also did a master's degree in family medicine at the University of the Orange Free State.

The mountains and the ocean are his happy place and he is looking forward to hiking and skiing. Sports that he really likes are swimming and tennis. He hopes that Canmore will be able to get an indoor tennis court soon.
