Travel health and immunization services from Odyssey Travel and Tropical Medicine

Odyssey Clinc logo

Whether you are traveling for leisure, business or an adventure of a lifetime, your health is as important as your tickets and accommodation.

To help with access to travel health services in the Bow Valley, Odyssey Travel and Tropical Medicine Clinic is opening a satellite clinic based out of Ridgeview Medical Centre. This evening clinic will offer a complete selection of travel vaccines including Yellow Fever and Japanese Encephalitis vaccines.

Your first appointment will take 30 to 60 minutes, during which time the travel health consultant will:

  • Review your past and present medical profile, including your immunization records.
  • Discuss your travel plans (itinerary, accommodations, activities and reason for travel).
  • Give advice, recommend vaccines, and provide prescriptions.
  • Start your immunizations and set up subsequent visits if more are required.

In addition to travel health services, all Odyssey Travel Medicine Clinic sites offer immunization reviews for educational and/or employment requirements that may include Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis, Meningoccocal vaccines or TB skin testing, for example.

Other non-travel vaccines are available such as Gardasil, to help protect against Human Papilloma Virus, and also Varicella vaccine for children born before August 1, 2005 who may not qualify for a second dose through provincial immunization programs.

*Travel consults are an uninsured medical service, so a fee may apply.

Foreign Citizens Traveling in Canada:

Physicians at Ridgeview Medical Centre see non-Canadian citizens on a walk in basis.

Our walk in hours are:

Monday through Thursday: 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Friday: no walk-in hours

Saturday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Sundays and (most) holidays: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

If appointments are available during regular office hours, we will try our best to accommodate walk in patients. Please visit the clinic in person, as these appointments cannot be booked over the phone.

To increase your chances of being seen that day, we recommend attending the clinic as soon as possible after opening, to have your name put on the list and to fill out any required forms. Walk in patients will not be booked over the phone. The base fee for non-Canadians is $100 per appointment.  Please note, we do not have the ability to do x-rays or lab work on site,  nor can we accept travel insurance.
